My VLC player will lock up frequently. When it locks the picture freezes and VLC cannot recover. Many times I have to reboot the PC.
I am using Direct Show with OpenGL

Are the any work arounds?

FYI. The aboive posts were correct. This was a generic PCTV card.

After I changed cards, life was grand. VLC ran for over a week with out an issue.
