Hi here's a quicker.

Just want to use bare videolan as installed and convert X media to uncompressed avi files with uncompressed audio in one file.

Theres an option for loads of other formats, but not avi (uncompressed), why? avi is or near is father of all video formats on windows.

Sorry no silly scripts or command (script) to input, just a quick press of a button AVI uncompressed. Like can be done with other formats.

Where is this magic AVI button !!!!

Please if some knows, also as a long user of media player classic. I move my mouse in mpc full screen to boom of the screen and the controls pop up. Is this possible with vlc standard or does it need to be skinned to do this.

First though i like to get the avi problem sorted, i still cannot find button|selection for avi convert.

AFAIK AVI output muxer is broken so no AVI output with VLC. And there are better tools for quick video processing.

Ok thanks i'll stick with media player classic for now, until you fix the broken avi output.

There is not any i find that can convert web downloads such as flv (youtube) and other silly horrible formats to AVI. All i have found so far is that these converters, convert to AVI but in some horrible xvid or other exotic format. Thats no use at all to me, just needing AVI uncompressed as the output option.

I did try graphedit and it does pass through into uncompressed avi, but fps and colours are not correct. It seems to want to convert at its own settings (AVI Mux). Maybe i should go get the ms sdk again so i can adjust the filter properties. Took me a while last time i did that, finding the right file to do that. I suppose its messy but not as messy or of putting than other script AVI sollutions. Well ok its 1zillion times quicker than any script type sollution.

Any ideas on the timescale for vlc to get this AVI bug fixed. So i can then make a note to look back then. Or it might be many moths before i look at vlc again, as was previous.

AVIdemux opens FLV and saves uncompressed AVI. FFmpeg or Mencoder also.
