Does VLC Media Player support syncing to iPods ?

Postby Amitanshu Gour » 04 Jul 2008 20:38

I have Windows Media Player as that is something which cannot be removed,VLC for playing all audio/video formats out there and somehow since I have an iPod,I also have iTunes and to support iTunes,Quicktime Player. The fact that VLC plays 96% of all the formats that iTunes and QuickTime play,I somehow want to get rid of these 2 media players as they occupy a lot of hard disk space and have no utility except for syncing music to my iPod.There are several alternatives to iTunes including Winamp but I want to have only one media player i.e. VLC. So does VLC support syncing music, movies, photos and other stuff to iPods as well as other portable media players?if so then how? This is a function a lot of media players perform and I would prefer VLC to do the same as portable media players are becoming popular day by day.I also needed to know,if it does not support, are there any plans in the pipeline to implement support for portable media devices?

Currently VLC can't handle syncing. There is some work for MTP support but no iPod support.

And QuickTime+iTunes+WMP don't take that much HD space.
