Problem isn't WMP. Problem is that you don't have required codecs installed.nice to see that WMP doesn't give this information... morons
VLC doesn't use DirectShow codecs. So keep hoping that FFmpeg devs implement GSM decoding.Still, it would be nice to be able to play this from VLC... I mean, if QT and WMP can play it with no issues...
Actually, it is a problem in WMP... it plays the sound (hence the codec is installed) but it doesn't identify it. QT plays it AND identifies it properly. Hence, my statement is correct.Problem isn't WMP. Problem is that you don't have required codecs installed.nice to see that WMP doesn't give this information... morons
Understood... so be it.VLC doesn't use DirectShow codecs. So keep hoping that FFmpeg devs implement GSM decoding.
You are correct - WMP should show it... but it doesn't.WMP should display the info if the codecs provide it (also Windows Explorer should do it also).
