When I tried latest build 0.9 May 04, 2008, rtsp-user and rtsp-pwd options are not there.
I would like to know what happen to these (rtsp-user and rtsp-pwd) options?

rtsp://[user[:passwd]@]serverip:port/pathoptions
does syntax like that work?

When tried today's (May 06) build 0.9 (http://nightlies.videolan.org/build/win ... -win32.exe)
from cygwin bash following different options
1. ./vlc.exe rtsp://user:pwd@serverip:port/path
2. ./vlc.exe rtsp://[user[:pwd]@]serverip:port/path

gives error
Connection failed:
VLC could not connConnection failed:
1. VLC could not connect to "user:0".
2. VLC could not connect to "[user[:0".

Latest build May 07, 2008 fixes this issue.
Now rtsp-user and rtsp-pwd options are working!
