DTS Problem

Good morning.
I've been using vlc to play dts dvds for years, but since about a month ago dts audio is unstable, there're regular blanks.
Nothing changed on this machine. Problem started with version 0.8.6d, and persists with 0.8.6e and 0.8.6f.
My audio device is a sound blaster audigy 4 pro with integrated dts decoder (I don't think vlc uses it...).
I have no problem playing dts with other softwares.
What can I do?
