Hello,

i'm using vlc 0.8.6f. With Directshow-Device it works great. But i can nit save the configuration. When using the "save playlist" function i get a file like this:

#EXTM3U
#EXTVLCOPT:dshow-vdev=ATI T200 AVStream Analog Capture
#EXTVLCOPT:dshow-adev=ATI T200 AVStream Analog Audio Capture
#EXTVLCOPT:dshow-size=
#EXTVLCOPT:dshow-caching=200
#EXTVLCOPT:dshow-chroma=
#EXTVLCOPT:dshow-fps=0.000000
#EXTVLCOPT:dshow-config
#EXTVLCOPT:no-dshow-tuner
#EXTVLCOPT:dshow-tuner-channel=0
#EXTVLCOPT:dshow-tuner-country=0
#EXTVLCOPT:dshow-tuner-input=0
#EXTVLCOPT:dshow-video-input=-1
#EXTVLCOPT:dshow-audio-input=-1
#EXTVLCOPT:dshow-video-output=-1
#EXTVLCOPT:dshow-audio-output=-1
dshow://

How can i save the previous parameters from the "Extended device" Dialogs?

Thank you for help.

Greating from germany

What you mean with previous parameters?

On the TAB "DirectShow" you find the Button "Advanced Options". When pressing these button, you can check "Device Properties". After checking these and pressing the OK buttons again, some other "Dialog Windows" will open. Now you can select NTSC or PAL, the videosize, the input-sources and so on.

So VLC doesn't save those parameters to playlist that you have chosen?

I have the exact same problem, and while checking "device properties" works for normal playback (I get to set up the device each and every time I want to play back my input, yay), even this option isn't saved when trying to save the input to a file - no settings I change remain changed after I click "OK".

In other words, settings can be changed through the Media -> "Open Capture Device" option, but I can't record. VLC refuses to accept anything other than defaults through the Media -> "Convert/Save" option, so all I can record is static.

I didn't have this problem with 8.6 - just with 9.2 and 9.4 - but I couldn't get the hue quite right with 8.6, so going back isn't an option.

Any suggestions on how to get the changes in settings to stick? I'd use the command line if I knew more about the syntax of it.

Hue thing has prolly something to do with dshow-chroma not set correctly. EXTVLCOPT playlist won't work in VLC 0.9.x (there must be some workaround but I don't know what it is)
