Resizable video only

I like to watch videos while I work on my computer but it's hard to resize the window to keep it from blocking what I'm working on while remaining large enough to see what's going on. Is there any way to eliminate all of the toolbars and everything without going fullscreen and leaving me with a window I can move around the screen and resize? I know I can end up accomplishing this by starting in "normal" mode, starting the video, then switching to skin mode but I'd rather have some kind of menu item or command that could switch back and forth on the fly.
