is there any way to clear the display info in full screen?

Hi. I'd first of all like to say that vlc media player is very solid and I'm so glad I found it.

The question:
In full screen mode, when you speed up the video, skip forward, ect..... text is displayed over the video stating the obvious. My question is, is there anyway to disable these displays so that all that is shown on the screen is the video itself while speeding/slowing the video or skipping around?

Disable OSD in the preferences.
this doesn't help. you still get this stuff displayed in fullscreen mode.

Does it work 100%? Can you please test this (with disabled OSD in the preferences):

-> play a video
-> go to fullscreen

-> press M (to mute)
-> press M again

=> here i get this: http://www.outburst-audio.com/misc/vlc-osd.jpg (at the right side a volumebar appears)

:(
