BSOD with cmudaxp.sys as culprit

Three times in a row when I started playing a DVD with VLC 86e on Windows 2003 Server SP2, about a few seconds to a few minutes into the movie, I had a BSOD saying something about the file cmudaxp.sys. I have Razer Barracuda as my sound card with most recent drivers as of 3/25/08. My speakers are Logitech z-5500.
I played the DVD with WinDVD and no BSOD.

Try to change audio output device from VLC and see if it changes anything.

I changed from Default to Waveout32. The BSOD stopped.
I tested directsound with dxdiag and found no problems.
Could it be that VLC has some bad codecs associated with directx?

No. Driver is just crappy. Program should NEVER be able to crash driver and it is drivers job to make sure that this is true.
