Is there a way to set subtitles on by default?

I just want to support this question. I am using DVB subtitles and expect them running whenever I start the VLC. There seems to be no option to put them always on. Or is it buried somewhere?

Settings -> Preferences and Input / Codec and tick the Advanced options
there are 3 Subtitle track/language selections but I am not sure if they work with DVB.

This is a good start. Thanks. But how do I turn on subtitles by default? It isn't intuitively clear on the panel and there's no documentation regarding this.
In addition, I've ticked notify me when there's an answer to my post but the system isn't doing that.

It seems there is no way to set permanently DVB subtitles. Please VLC developers make this option.
