Brilliant idea...Yes, the thing is we can't really do anyhting about it, because the widget library doesn't support W98.
However You can download 0.8.6c zip file and take the libwxwidgets.dll in the plugin directory and put it in the 0.8.6e installation directory
Okay, I believe - I replaced libwxwidgets_plugin.dll with the 0.8.6c onlybelieve me, don't take the 0.8.6d one, but take the 0.8.6c one... If I tell you so, as I am the one compiling it, believe me.
I'm another Win98 dinosaur. I'd be happy to help with testing if you wish.btw, can one of the dinosaur test development version on W98 ?
OK ? So ? What is the point of this post? The demise of Windows 98 has been greatly exaggerated.
In fact, Win 98, SE at least, remains alive and well, as shown by the various active Win 98 groups around the web.
There are people who say Windows 98 gets better every year, especially on days when M$ issues its XP/Vista patches.
Win 98 has proven itself reliable and secure in actual practice -- theoretical considerations to the contrary notwithstanding. It is also faster, with less overhead than later versions. It doesn't have the activation problems of XP/Vista for people who change their configurations and maintain working back up machines. Because I have not wasted my time on M$ XP problems and patches, I have had weeks added to my life.
While actual numbers remain problematic, the number of Win 98 users is higher than many non Windows platforms included in the term multi-platform.
Conclusion: Win 98 is here to stay and remains a platform to support for anything claiming to be multi-platform.
