As topic: is that possible? Can WMP use VLC codecs?

No. VLC does not use DirectShow. Why would you want to do that? WMP should be able to play DVD's. You *could* however install ffdshow. It would be the closest thing to using "VLC Codecs".

WMP with Windows MCE or Vista Home Premium or Vista Ultimate can play DVD out of box. Other Windows version require codecs.
