VLC-compatible remote?

I'm wondering if anyone here knows of a remote I could buy for my PC that will work with VLC? Prefferably one that will let me program it for use with other programs, but that's not completely necessary.

VLC has no remote support. You can use any remote that is compatible with some software that allows some short of keybindings e.g. when you press number 1 from remoter the software converts it to keypress 1 (so you could chat with your remote

).

You want to look at getting a 30$ USB MCE Vista Remote or Creative Soundblaster remote. Then you can use a program like Intelliremote to control VLC and all your other windows applications from your sofa.
Check out Intelliremote....
