VLC plays with reversed colors (negative)

Whatever file I try to play, VLC plays with reversed colors (negative). All other players (Media Player, MV2Player) play with normal colors. I had ffdshow installed, I thought it somehow changed the colors, deinstalled it, deinstalled VLC as well, then reinstalled it - no luck. Tried deleting cache and preferences, unchecking video overlay and various other tweaks - no luck at all. :( I hope someone can help. Read quite a few themes on the forum, didn't find anything similar.
Thanks in advance!

I'm sorry, but could you be a little more specific? I'm not sure how to do that. If it's the one where you set it to "DirectX", for example, or OpenGL, I've done that, with no result.

Did you delete the preferences and cache fully by going to:
C:\Documents and Settings\(Your username)\Application Data

And deleting the "vlc" directory?

Arite.

Have you tried changing the color quality from 16bid to 32bit this can be done in display properties. I had the same problem and this fixed it.
