thanks! can you short explain how to reset the cache?
i have the vlc 0.8.6d not installed, only the zip-version. i deletet the vlc folder in "C:\Dokumente und Einstellungen\MyName\Anwendungsdaten\vlc"
is that the same? that not solves my problem!

i have tried the newest version, 2 days old, 2 weeks old, 2 month old...... it has nothing to do with a special version. if i delete the vlc folder (cache, settings) und after that i start the new 0.9.0 vlc.exe the screen flickers and an new vlc folder is created and the exe shut down. if i try to rund whith start -- cmd ("dos box") the programm starts normally, but not with the command line i need (vlc.exe --extraintf=http --http-host :8080)

if i doubleclick the vlc.exe file nothing happens. the screen flickers short. but the vlc-folder is created in that moment. if i start the taskmanager no vlc.exe ist shown.

I can't debug your VLC. It works here.
