thin line of pixels when VLC is in full screen mode

Postby aerotive » 14 Jan 2008 08:40

Hi all. I'm using VLC 0.8.6d on Windows Vista. When in full-screen mode there is a very thin line of white pixels all the way across (horizontally) the screen.
It's the same with all file formats and resolutions. The systems uses on-board Intel video, chipset G33/31. This problem doesn't occur when BSplayer and
Windows Media Player run fullscreen.

Also, if I don't set the taskbar to autohide it stays visible when VLC is in full-screen mode. This also doesn't happen with other media players. So after autohide is activated,
that's when I get the long thin strip of pixels.

I've updated my graphics drivers to the latest available. Any ideas on what else I can try?

Change your video output module.

I've tried your advice but the result is the same with all eight video output options--the same thin white line. Anything else I could try?

Done but unfortunately the result is the same. If you have other other suggestions I'd be grateful.

You saved and restarted VLC when you changed output module?

There's no error message as such but here are a couple of screenshots that show what what the problem looks like.

The first shows the thin line that is displayed with autohide activated. You have to use an external viewer to see the white strip of pixels at the
bottom of the image.

The second, without autohide:

You can also try nightly builds to see if it is fixed because if it shows up with all video output modules, it must be error with decoder or with scaling.

I uninstalled vlc 0.8.6d and installed 0.7.2 and good its much better but not good enouch so the problem is from vlc. All 0.8 version was the same.
