I'm trying to transcode a rtsp stream to flv without success i use a svn 0.9 version (windws binaries vlc-0.9.0-svn-20080109-0000-win32.exe) I tried also older one (vlc-0.9.0-svn-20070926-0000-win32.exe)
My command line is
vlc -vvv rtsp://mafreebox.freebox.fr/freeboxtv/stream?id=201 --sout=#transcode{vcodec=FLV1,acodec=mp3,samplerate=44100,scale=0.5}:duplicate{dst=display,dst=std{access=http,dst=192.168.0.51:8081/stream.flv}}

There is no error message and I can display the stream (I duplicate it on display + http)

When I open FLV player or another vlc to see it with the address "http://192.168.0.51:8081/stream.flv " nothing happen

I tried also RTSP to MMS and in that case it is working well when I open it on WMP.

Could you help me ?
Thanks.

I found a version working in the svn vlc-0.9.0-svn-20070730-2318-win32.exe ,but i still have 3 problems :

1- When i open the stream in IE on a local web page with a flash player incuded it is only play a part of the stream ,i think it is the begening and the pause , and restart ... (when i replay the stream with vlc it's correct)
Does an embbeded flash player alows to play a stream instead of a file ?

2- the ouput aspect ratio is not correct

3- the quality is very bad (the scale is set to 1) !! but with the command line i don't know if i can change the bit rate.

all this job to play my freebox tv on the browser of the PS3 with a projector :-)

Thanks.

I have found this nightly build and was wondering if anyone knows if it is at least stable enough to use ona regular basis?

again i hav no experience with nightly builds and the warning about them being unstable worries me.

but i really need a way to stream in FLV or h.264 to a flash player
