Open online mp3 file and start playing immediately

I want to have VLC Start either "in Internet Explorer" like Quicktime did when I clicked on an mp3 file hyperlink in a website or to open, but start playing immediately (Default to "Open Network Stream" instead of fully downloading the file first and then starting to play.
