Writing to a blank DVD

Postby cliff » 10 Nov 2007 22:18

Hi,

I just installed VLC and it works great for playing a dvd that I copied onto my hard drive in .vob format.

Now I'd like to have it write the output to a blank DVD rather than show the video on the screen, in a format that my commercial DVD player (a Sony whose model number escapes me at the moment) can play on my big-screen TV. Can VLC do this?

Thanks much!

Thanks, do you recommend any particular software to accomplish this?

Start with the DVD burning software delivered with your PC / your DVD writer.

If there isn't any or you don't like it, I usually recommend products by Roxio, who offer software for all kinds of users. The traditional Nero is also a good choice. Note that there are also excellent open-source disk recording applications available based upon cdrtools. Check this for a complete list.
