Good morning.

I noticed this defect playing any kind of video:



The image, especially when moving fast, is broken in lines.

The image posted is a snapshot of a dvd movie.

My monitor works at 1440x900 (16:10) @ 60Hz, connected with a dvi cable.

How can I solve this issue?

What kind of video are you trying to play (maybe interlaced videos)? If so have you tried Video -> Deinterlace options during playback?

Yes, deinterlacing does not help.

The posted snapshot comes from a standard pal dvd, I think progressive as all pal dvds...

Have you tried with any other media player (like media player classic)?

Yes, usually seems better, but there are other defects using other media players...

have you tried resetting the preferences and cache?
how about postprocessing to levewl 6 and deinterlacing?

It appears that the video is from an interlaced source, and has been scaled to 2x the size (thus making deinterlacing useless). You could try scaling to 50% of the size, then deinterlacing. I would recommend VirtualDub for that.

What are you meaning? I'm not an expert...

I tryed all deinterlacing methods, sometimes this defect is removed but video quality is degraded.

What's "postprocessing to lelev 6"? The snapshot comes from a dvd.

Video -> Post Processing -> 6 (highest)
but I don't think it will help in this case.
