Seek-bar in full screen mode?

Does anybody know if there is a way to bring up a scrolling/seeking/search bar (whatever you want to call it) to see and change the time-position of the video while it is in full screen mode - hopefully with simply by moving the mouse to one of the sides like most other players? Any plug-ins, skins etc.? This player is absolutely perfect apart from this one reasonably important aspect.

Thanks for your anticipated help...

no, it's a good idea but nobody coded this feature yet

Then what's this option for? It doesn't do anything when enabled. Can't we at least keep a remote type window on top? If I enable Always On Top, it's the video window that's on top of the remote! Is there no way at all to fast forward (seek) a movie in full screen other than keyboard shortcuts?! :(

I second that, it would avoid switching between window and fullscreen modes to seek the video. I think Zoom Player has the feature well implemented but it has been a while since last time I used it ! I've just checked and Media Player Classic supports the feature too, just move the mouse cursor to the bottom and the Seek Bar & Controls views pops up.

I enabled the "Show interface with mouse" option and the player window pops up when I reached the bottom border with the mouse in fullscreen mode. However I think popups are just annoying, better smoothly display some controls at the bottom.

yeah a lot of player can do that, but VLC being cross platform and using a lot of different video outputs, that ain't easy.

maybe for some bounty ?

Oh god that --please stay polite-- is annoying, one of the reasons I like VLC.

Like everyone says...? Optional is good.

Optional is good.
If the feature is not supported by some OS then I think it should be disabled. I suppose non-working features just make the user angry, and that's not good :)

Press i on your keyboard or use the mouse option in preferences.

I'm on Windows XP SP2 and like I said, moving the mouse to the bottom of the screen does nothing. Pressing the I key, besides the fact that it's inconvenient, brings up the taskbar along with the remote-style window. That's even more annoying.
In Media Player Classic and Windows Media Player, you just move the cursor to the bottom of the screen, a sort of thin banner with handy controls appears at the bottom of the screen, and when you move the cursor away, it quickly disappears. Simple, quick and elegant. That's how I think it should be done.

Thank you for your attention and farewell.
