vlc not able to stream MPEG4 & h.264

Hi there

I'm trying to stream mpeg4 and h264 files with RTP unicast to another vlc (both on windows XP SP2 machines), but I receive only the audio stream, the video stream is not present ( on the "media information" box appears only the audio section, reporting the codec "mp4a" ).

I use vlc 0.86c (tried also 0.86b and "0.90 nightly compiled").

The first pc is notebook dual core duo t2300 with ati radeon x1600 1GB ram with k-lite codecs and VLC 0.86c (the .exe precompiled)

The second pc is desktop pc pentium4 with nvidia geforce 6600 1GB ram with k-lite codecs and VLC 0.86c (the same as notebook).

I'm starting to think it's a bug, but searching 2 months I didn't find on internet any reason for this strange behaviour...

I really need an answer, please guys

Current VLC086 has problem to stream the H264 file.

It removes the H264 NAL PPS/SPS and the client cannot decode it.

Workaround

x1. convert the H264 to MP4 and stream it

x2. use VLC081 to stream it

cheers
