vlc 0.8.6.c isnt displaying pictures in video files, i get s

help my version 086b didnt show videos so i got 086c and this also wont show videos of bin files but i do hear the sound...what can i do to fix this??? im new here so please give simple steps that are well explained, ive used vlc for a few years and not had this problem before. i just see black screen no picture at all.

What is the codec information (Select VLC and press Ctrl-I > (tab) Advanced information)?

i solved it myself by going to start/programs/vlc/videosettings then selected each 1 one by 1 ebventuallt i found opengl to be the best at getting a picture with ok colours, some others also played the video but colours were bad eg pink skined people looked blue!!.
ps dont know what the popint of the link from the person to reply is that says just click here?? just a long list of things people want vlc to do in future...whats that got to do with my problem??

I would really suggest that you update your video card drivers as well as your DirectX drivers. "DirectX video output" should work best without any color distortion.

No, that's my signature, not a very good one at that. :P I wanted to add an uber looking signature but it was too big. I'm working on something that looks a little better and that's a little smaller too, so prepare yourself dionoea. :P

The issue here sounds more like Video card drivers to me. But of coarse the latest DirectX runtime won't hurt.
