Changing Default Brightness?

Hey guys, I've got a quick question. For some reason a lot of the .avis I have are darker than I'd like and I always have to enable the Extended GUI and slide the brightness to a little to the right of mid-line to make it look normal. Is there any way to change the default brightness setting so it's default is always slightly brighter than mid-line? Thanks!

Thanks, but that didn't actually seem to do anything. It was set as default to 1.120000. I changed it to 1.5. That didn't do anything. So I changed it to 0.5 just to test it out and there was no difference from the 1.120000. Same with a 2.0 setting. Any idea why? Thanks!

I was able to fix the problem by changing the brightness setting through my Nvidia Control Panel. But I'd have liked to keep the Nvidia settings intact while only changing the default brightness in VNC. So if anyone has any other ideas, let me know. Thanks guys.

You can also set it through the Extended GUI in VLC and then press Save in Preferences.

Works like a charm, thanks.
