I have my monitor set to shut off after two hours. Every night before i go to bed i play a video through VLC, but when i run it, the monitor never shuts off. It will shut off if VLC is not open and if i am running a different video player. Is there any way around this?
Windows XP Professional SP2
VLC Media Player 0.8.6b

Try shutting off the screen saver option. Disable screensaver in Preferences, Video.

Do not see a screensaver option.

Select VLC media player and go to Preferences > Video > (check the "Advanced option" box) "Disable screensaver".
