How do I get VLC to stop going directly to DVD menu?

Postby jakobkraft » 21 Jun 2007 03:05

I know it sounds like a crazy thing to WANT to see the previews but my kid is bugging me that when he sees Pixar dvds on my pc, it skips the coming attractions and goes straight to the movie.

Naturally this has never bothered me, but...

I've scanned the options but I don't see where it would be to play disc from beginning?

Any help would be appreciated -- thanks in advance:)

VLC version: OVER 9000!!!
Operating System: It's...blue screen
Location: Heaven? No no. What's that other place that starts with an "H"? Oh yes: Home. ^_^

If you have the latest version of VLC you should be able to select "DVD" instead of "DVD (Menus)" when you press the "Play" button.

Can you do this if you have the DVD ripped to your computer and select play files (directory) or whatever?

Hmm, honestly I don't know. If you've changed the settings so that it'll rip all the contents of the DVD (as most by default have it set to rip only the movie) then it should play them in order. Like I said I'm not 100% sure though.

The original purpose for the Open Directory was the check the structure of a DVD or VCD. So if the whole disk is transfered to the directory it shouldn't act any differently.
