windows media center remote configure with vlc?

Postby dbaz » 03 Jun 2007 14:48

On my dell laptop, I have and dislike windows media center. Does anyone know if (or how to) configure VLC to work with the media center control buttons on the front of the laptop or to work with the media center remote? Thanks for any help.

The testing will probably begin late summer with a release in the early fall.

I use HIP
http://byremote.com.au/downloads/default.asp?SCLASS=HIP
to convert play, pause etc Media Center remote buttons to key presses (such as ctrl-alt-p), which VLC can then pick up as hot keys. It takes a bit of configuring and the VLC window needs to be selected, but it does the job.

Write back if you want more info on how I've set mine up.
