ALAC audio, SVQ3 video, no sound...

I downloaded a movie with a .mov extension, but when I go to open it in VLC, the video plays fine while the audio is silent. The video codec is SVQ3 and audio is ALAC. I'm not really familiar with the video codec, but I've heard that ALAC should play fine on VLC. Anyone have any hints to get this working? I'm running VLC v.0.8.6b.

I have opened this with quicktime and it works fine, but VLC just doesn't play the audio.

VLC should be able to read it correctly. Can you provide samples on the ftp ?

Hello there...

Problem still exists. Here is a link to such a file:

http://lucasarts.com/games/theforceunle ... m=unsorted

But you need Quicktime Browser Plugin to view the video. After viewing, the file should be in your browsers cache directory.

I can also upload the video on my ftp. If that suits you (= any VLC Developer reading that) more, please send me a PM for the link.

Sincerely, Cole Bantam
