[5.1] How to make rear speakers louder?

Hello,
about my System:
- Win Xp
- Soundblaster X-Fi
- 5.1 System

My rear Speakers stand on the other side of the room. As a result I hear almost no rear channel sound when I watch something on the PC. The rear channels are also much more quieter than the front channel, even when there is a loud sound effect on the rear channels.

So where can I edit the sound levels of the rear speakers in VLC?

No adjustments are available in VLC.

I'm not saying this to offend you in any way but: could you use Image Shack to resize that Sanjaya(?) avatar? It's kind of taking up a bit of the screen, plus there are rules.
Again, it's no offense to Sanjaya.

why cant this be added? i really wanna make my rear speakers more louder, they are already at maximum loudness via the amp but my front/center and subwoofer over power the back way too much even when they are lowered. It depends on which films to be fair, but still..... It's a good option to have surely?!
