Possible to have two computers playing same video?

Postby wrybread » 24 Mar 2007 05:46

I'm wondering if there's some way to syncronize VLC, so two different computers are playing the same video, at exactly the same time?

Or maybe there's some other way of accomplishing this?

Thanks for any help.

GOOD QUESTION

I agree with this forum question, I also would like to synchronize 10 computers with the same video, or video playlist, but keep the sound output in my server which is connected to a home theater setup - the idea is that I have 10 monitors playing the same video but with the sound coming from my centralised home theater which can be controlled by me (important given that video "volume" differs greatly.... keeping the control relevant to my server pc means that sound can be diminished (for phone calls, etc) or increased for crazy moments)....

Don't play locally from the server, but instead open another instance of VLC on the server that picks up the network feed.
