VLC MP streaming into Windows Media Player

Postby GFORCE100 » 15 Mar 2007 14:48

Hi all,

I'm trying to stream a video file from VLC MP so it can be opened via Windows Media Player (for now on the same PC, later on PC's on a network).

So I use the wizard built into VLC MP to start the stream using the HTTP method and let that run. In Windows Media Player I open a URL and type in http://MyIPAddress:8080 but it says the destination cannot be opened.

What's going wrong?

When I do the same but with two instances of VLC MP (one server, one client) it all works fine.

Thanks,

DJ

What formats and container are you using?

The file format is WMV, not sure about the container.
