spdif (a52) is very distorded in vista

Postby winwiz » 20 Feb 2007 09:51

When I enable spdif output on my X-Fi and choose A/52 over spdif the output to my receiver is 5.1 but very distorted like it is clipping and far too loud.

In preferences i set the audio output module to Win32 wave out.

All works great with WMP11 and with Powerdvd.

I also tried the latest 0.90 daily build with the same result.

Same here with AC3 streams

Hardware : Realtek ALC880 HD Audio connected via optical S/PDIF to Logitech Z-5500 5.1 Digital

OS : Vista Ultimate Retail x86 RTM

I believe this isn't going to be fixed due to a lack of VideoLan developers for the Windows platform.

I don't hope so...... It is working perfect in Xp. I'll hope they'll fix it or give us a hand how to sove it.
