Hello everybody !

VLC, best media player ever !! explications :
I had lot of problems to look at USB Tv card, I finaly decide ti use VLC, because it use les than 1 or 2 % of the CPU activity on my computer !!!

Here is my little problem :
I've made a M3U file with all my TV channels inside.
It works well, but when I change the channel, I need to confirm the settings about 5 times on differents boxes (propiety, flux, sound crossbar ... )
... is there is any solution to make those settings to be "auto-confirm" ...

... is there any fontions to add on the MU3 file to make the channels change immedialty ?

( excuse my poor english )

Thanks a lot.

In many hardware settop boxes the same issues have been noted by users for digital video. There is NO easy answers here as VLC requires a reset.

I'm not sure to understand ... there NO solution regarding that ?

Here is an extract off my m3u file :

Code: Select all

#EXTM3U #EXTINF:0,TF1 #EXTVLCOPT:dshow-vdev=DTV-DVB USB Hybrid Analog/Capture #EXTVLCOPT:dshow-adev=Pinnacle PCTV #EXTVLCOPT:dshow-size=720x576 #EXTVLCOPT:dshow-caching=500 #EXTVLCOPT:dshow-chroma= #EXTVLCOPT:dshow-fps=0.000000 #EXTVLCOPT:dshow-config #EXTVLCOPT:dshow-tuner #EXTVLCOPT:dshow-tuner-channel=22 #EXTVLCOPT:dshow-tuner-country=33 #EXTVLCOPT:dshow-tuner-input=2 #EXTVLCOPT:dshow-video-input=-1 #EXTVLCOPT:dshow-audio-input=-1 #EXTVLCOPT:dshow-video-output=-1 #EXTVLCOPT:dshow-audio-output=-1 #EXTVLCOPT:file-caching=300 dshow://
There's no special option on VLC palyer not to confirm the settings ?
Is there's any option like "NO-CONFIRM" to put behind the m3u's options ?

You can make a m3u playlist and then switch channel with N and P.

The m3u playlist looks like this when opened in notepad:

#EXTM3U
#EXTINF:-1,Viasat Explorer
#EXTVLCOPT:dshow-tuner-channel=1
dshow://
#EXTINF:-1,SVT 1
#EXTVLCOPT:dshow-tuner-channel=4
dshow://
#EXTINF:-1,Kanal 5
#EXTVLCOPT:dshow-tuner-channel=20
dshow://
#EXTINF:-1,SVT 2
#EXTVLCOPT:dshow-tuner-channel=21
dshow://
#EXTINF:-1,TV 4
#EXTVLCOPT:dshow-tuner-channel=23
dshow://
#EXTINF:-1,TV 3
#EXTVLCOPT:dshow-tuner-channel=25
dshow://
#EXTINF:-1,BBC Prime
#EXTVLCOPT:dshow-tuner-channel=26
dshow://
#EXTINF:-1,Eurosport
#EXTVLCOPT:dshow-tuner-channel=28
dshow://

I've find the solution :

In fact I was given some false parameters :

Code: Select all

#EXTVLCOPT:dshow-chroma= #EXTVLCOPT:dshow-config #EXTVLCOPT:dshow-tuner
When I put thoses out of my M3U file, its works immédiatly when I change the channel from the play list, whithout any confirmation box... !!
A real pleasure !

This my full M3U file ( in case of somebody is looking making a Pinnacle 310e working with VLC )

TV card : Pinnacle 310e USB2
M3U file : ( for french channel )

Code: Select all

#EXTM3U #EXTINF:0,TF1 #EXTVLCOPT:dshow-vdev=DTV-DVB USB Hybrid Analog/Capture #EXTVLCOPT:dshow-adev=Pinnacle PCTV #EXTVLCOPT:dshow-size=720x576 #EXTVLCOPT:dshow-caching=250 #EXTVLCOPT:dshow-fps=0.000000 #EXTVLCOPT:dshow-tuner-channel=22 #EXTVLCOPT:dshow-tuner-country=33 #EXTVLCOPT:dshow-tuner-input=2 #EXTVLCOPT:dshow-video-input=-1 #EXTVLCOPT:dshow-audio-input=-1 #EXTVLCOPT:dshow-video-output=-1 #EXTVLCOPT:dshow-audio-output=-1 #EXTVLCOPT:file-caching=300 dshow:// #EXTINF:0,France 2 #EXTVLCOPT:dshow-vdev=DTV-DVB USB Hybrid Analog/Capture #EXTVLCOPT:dshow-adev=Pinnacle PCTV #EXTVLCOPT:dshow-size=720x576 #EXTVLCOPT:dshow-caching=250 #EXTVLCOPT:dshow-fps=0.000000 #EXTVLCOPT:dshow-tuner-channel=28 #EXTVLCOPT:dshow-tuner-country=33 #EXTVLCOPT:dshow-tuner-input=2 #EXTVLCOPT:dshow-video-input=-1 #EXTVLCOPT:dshow-audio-input=-1 #EXTVLCOPT:dshow-video-output=-1 #EXTVLCOPT:dshow-audio-output=-1 #EXTVLCOPT:file-caching=300 dshow:// #EXTINF:0,France 3 #EXTVLCOPT:dshow-vdev=DTV-DVB USB Hybrid Analog/Capture #EXTVLCOPT:dshow-adev=Pinnacle PCTV #EXTVLCOPT:dshow-size=720x576 #EXTVLCOPT:dshow-caching=250 #EXTVLCOPT:dshow-fps=0.000000 #EXTVLCOPT:dshow-tuner-channel=25 #EXTVLCOPT:dshow-tuner-country=33 #EXTVLCOPT:dshow-tuner-input=2 #EXTVLCOPT:dshow-video-input=-1 #EXTVLCOPT:dshow-audio-input=-1 #EXTVLCOPT:dshow-video-output=-1 #EXTVLCOPT:dshow-audio-output=-1 #EXTVLCOPT:file-caching=300 dshow:// #EXTINF:0,Canal + #EXTVLCOPT:dshow-vdev=DTV-DVB USB Hybrid Analog/Capture #EXTVLCOPT:dshow-adev=Pinnacle PCTV #EXTVLCOPT:dshow-size=720x576 #EXTVLCOPT:dshow-caching=250 #EXTVLCOPT:dshow-fps=0.000000 #EXTVLCOPT:dshow-tuner-channel=6 #EXTVLCOPT:dshow-tuner-country=33 #EXTVLCOPT:dshow-tuner-input=2 #EXTVLCOPT:dshow-video-input=-1 #EXTVLCOPT:dshow-audio-input=-1 #EXTVLCOPT:dshow-video-output=-1 #EXTVLCOPT:dshow-audio-output=-1 #EXTVLCOPT:file-caching=300 dshow:// #EXTINF:0,France 5 #EXTVLCOPT:dshow-vdev=DTV-DVB USB Hybrid Analog/Capture #EXTVLCOPT:dshow-adev=Pinnacle PCTV #EXTVLCOPT:dshow-size=720x576 #EXTVLCOPT:dshow-caching=250 #EXTVLCOPT:dshow-fps=0.000000 #EXTVLCOPT:dshow-tuner-channel=38 #EXTVLCOPT:dshow-tuner-country=33 #EXTVLCOPT:dshow-tuner-input=2 #EXTVLCOPT:dshow-video-input=-1 #EXTVLCOPT:dshow-audio-input=-1 #EXTVLCOPT:dshow-video-output=-1 #EXTVLCOPT:dshow-audio-output=-1 #EXTVLCOPT:file-caching=300 dshow:// #EXTINF:0,M6 #EXTVLCOPT:dshow-vdev=DTV-DVB USB Hybrid Analog/Capture #EXTVLCOPT:dshow-adev=Pinnacle PCTV #EXTVLCOPT:dshow-size=720x576 #EXTVLCOPT:dshow-caching=250 #EXTVLCOPT:dshow-fps=0.000000 #EXTVLCOPT:dshow-tuner-channel=64 #EXTVLCOPT:dshow-tuner-country=33 #EXTVLCOPT:dshow-tuner-input=2 #EXTVLCOPT:dshow-video-input=-1 #EXTVLCOPT:dshow-audio-input=-1 #EXTVLCOPT:dshow-video-output=-1 #EXTVLCOPT:dshow-audio-output=-1 #EXTVLCOPT:file-caching=300 dshow://
For information, it use about 2 to 3 % a my CPU activity, where KTV use 4 to 6%, ... (!)
... and there NO need to configure pinnacle Audio in default card on windows control panel WITH VLC ... ( that was boring with KTV ...)

I will try now to make it work with DVB-T channels ...

Any ideas ?

Thanks again
