Do I have to install AC 3 filter for my VLC?

Postby kwokwai » 17 Feb 2007 10:57

Hi, I have VLC0.85c installed in my PC, but I am not familiar with most of its features and functions actually.
I have recently read some posts about the features of AC3 filter,
and so I wonder if I have to download and install any AC3 filter my for VLC.

Thanks

NO! VLC is NOT a Direct Show player.

How about Window Media Player?
I have installed K-Lite CODEC, but I don't know how to access the properties of AC3filter:

Could you give me some hints, DJ?

I personally believe codec packs are the best way to screw up Direct Show and they are hard to get rid of too.

AC3Filter is a free program and when it installs there is access to the setup. It does take some playing with it to get it working well with your system. But general instructions are on the website. This does not in any way effect VLC.
