VLC and DTS via SPDIF problem

I'm trying to play ts files with dts audio but i can't get it via spdif output to my Onkyo receiver (the sound card is SB X-Fi). I have no problems with DD (the same file but second audio stream selected) but DTS is not working at all. From the other side I have no problems with playing this same files with DTS with Media Player Classic. Any idea where is the problem?

In preferences change the audio output module to "Win32 wavOut extension output".

It's not that problem, I've already made this setting, but the problem is not in spdif but in absence of DTS. DD works fine, the problem is only with ts files and DTS sound. If there are two audio tracks in ts file I can send DD audio stream to external decoder (receiver) but it is not possible with DTS track.

Perhaps the only way this would be a issue is if you are using a nightly build rather than a official release.

Hi,
It won't help you a lot but i have the same problem...
Have you succeeded ?
PS: I think you should change your title in order to specify that DD 5.1 is ok

Hi, I realise this discussion is years old, but was there ever a real fix?
I'm still having this problem now trying to outout DTS via SPDIF with version 0.8.6h.
I know it's mainly intended for network streaming and such but I'm a huge fan of VLC and would hate to have to use a another player.
Any help would be much appreciated.

Nightlies and Waveout output module is currently the best bet if you want to get SPDIF+AC3/DTS working.
