***HELP***Green screen while watching***

Ok, i have had VLC for a long time now, and recently i am getting a green screen when ever i play any video...here is some info that i got when i play a video by pressing crtl i

I can hear the sound fine, it is just the picture that is messing up.

I have exactly the same problem too! :shock: I tried uninstalling my old VLC and installed the newest one (0.8.6a) and also deleted old preferences etc. and even installed it into a new folder, deleting the old one, still doesn't work. I haven't changed my codecs or anything recently so it must be some timebomb that was set off to break my VLC :roll: I tried playing videos that are packed differently and none of them seems to work, be it divx, xvid, mpeg etc.


My BSplayer can play the mkv's just fine, nevertheless, and media player classic goes VLC.

edit: meh i am so dumb, i rebooted my comp and it is miraculously working again, recommend that for you too :wink:

Try deleting VLC's preferences folder.
