Can you use a remote control for DVD playback?

Postby jester805 » 16 Jan 2007 22:22

I've got my PC in the basement and my TV in the living room directly above it. I have a DVI to HDMI cable running out of my 7600GT Nvidia video card to the TV. I also have a fiber TOSLINK cable running out of the S/PDIF port on my sound card to my audio receiver.

My question:
Is there anyway to use a remote control with VLC to control the DVD playback?? If so, can you recommend any specific remotes?

I saw this post, but it refers to using a Creative sound card. I want to use the on-board sound that I already have with my Asus P5B-E motherboard.

Thanks
