0.8.6a not displaying videos in Vista

Ok, starting backwards...

I had 0.8.6 and was working but had some minor issues in resetting the vista transparency settings to old style and sometimes causing the video to not want to display. But, a few minor stops and starts it shows up.

I moved on to 0.8.6a and now the transparency of Vista title bar is working and no delay while the screen resets anymore, BUT, no matter how many starts and stops of playing I try I can't get any video to display out of it.

So, I'm currently attempting to backstep to the prior version so at least something sometimes works.

In version 0.8.6a use OpenGL at video-output.
So my "aero-glass" works in VLC media player and I can see the video.

try it!

I am using Vista RC1 build 5600 with Geforce FX 5700 LE
and it works fine so far.

Bill Gates announced at CES this last week that Vista is the most media compatible operating system ever created. Considering that selecting OpenGL puts all the weight of decoding on the CPU, do you think this is better???

This didn't work for me. I am using Vista Ultimate x64 RTM build 6000.
