Gentlemen,

I tried to stream to Helix Server using VLC with Windows Encoder but no success at all. :( :?

:sout=#transcode{vcodec=WMV1,vb=64,scale=0.5,acodec=mpga,ab=64,channels=2}:duplicate{dst=std{access=mmsh,mux=ts,dst=192.168.0.100:1234}}

And I tried using Http. But Helix is not receiving this stream.

Even: I tried to broadcast with 3gpp(h263/amr) as the following:

transcode{vcodec=H263,width=128,height=96,vb=28,fps="12.5",acodec=samr,ab="5.25",samplerate=8000,channels=1,venc=ffmpeg{keyint=6,strict=1,strict-rc=1}}:rtp{mp4a-latm,port-video=2244,port-audio=2242,dst=1
27.0.0.1,ttl=12,sdp="file://H:\Program Files\Real\Helix Server\Content\rtpencodersdp\live.sdp"}

And my SDP file is

v=0
o=- 5788745017 2 IN IP4 127.0.0.1
s=NONE
t=0 0
a=tool:vlc 0.8.6
c=IN IP4 127.0.0.1
m=audio 2242 RTP/AVP 96
a=rtpmap:96 AMR/8000
a=fmtp:96 octet-align=1
b=AS:5
m=video 2244 RTP/AVP 97
a=rtpmap:97 H263-1998/90000
b=AS:28

but also no success at all, can any professional help me on this and thanking in Advanced.

I'd recommend staying away from Helix as far as possible. The universal file format imho is a myth. The only thing that seems to work is Real. Personally I've had problems with mpeg1, mpeg2, mpeg4, wmv, Helix in combination with Flip4Mac.

Helix wmv support is based on reverse engineering and my guess is it doesn't understand the way VLC packages in TS (actually using ASF to stream to WM servers also doesn't work atm).

The problem with all this interoperability is, when using Helix the only way it will work for sure is when you use Real/Helix encoders. Same goes for WM servers, if you use WM encoder it works for sure.. anything else is just experimental.

As for the rtp and protocol differences.. Helix uses proprietary form of rtsp streaming which is different from WM which is different from QT which is different from Kasenna Mediabase..

Hi,

personally, I agree with you, I don't like Helix at all, and I don't like any product from this company, they are selfish company.

anyway, could you advise me for good streamer for streaming WMV formate.

many thanks for reply.
