x264

Postby bremang » 09 Jan 2007 05:57

There is an mp4 file that everyone seems to be playing fine with VLC media player, something about x264.....

anyway, i've been told to download codecs. And ive downloaded various video and audio codecs (coreaac, coreavc, etc.) and I unpack them if they're rar'd.....i just don't know how to get these things to activate, or how to get them to work in the vlc media player or any other player. Where do these .ax files need to be downloaded, and do i need to set any preferences in the player to get them to work?

VLC doesn't use any codec packs. So either it works or it doesn't and there's nothing to change about that

VLC uses FFmpeg library to decode H.264.
