Want to use different Media player. How?

How do I choose which media player to play trailers? I have windows media, Real Player, and VLC. My computer switched to VLC and I want it switched back to one of the others. Could it be one of the VLC functions I was playing with trying to get the VLC videos to work? Thanks

Reinstall VLC and disable all file associations.

How do you disable all file associations and what will it do. Also what is a file association. Thanks. I'm trying to learn more about computers.

Really it would probably be best to steal back the associations with the player you want to use. Look in the options for that player.
