I'm relatively new to computers so I don't understand much more than the basics. Can you tell me why I have to go through the following process to get the radio to play?--- I must click view, playlist , manage , move mouse to services discovery click shoutcast radio listings then double click shoutcast then double click a station. Then general and shoutcast comes in the window which I have to double click(shoutcast) then I finally get a sound. Does anyone know the problem I am having or is this the only way to hear the radio? I discovered how to do this by trial and error. i think there is probably a much simpler way to play the radio but maybe there isn't. Thank you I'm using windows 98 with I think explorer 6(with its service pack)[/i]

Sadly, VLC is kind of like this. Its too powerful for its own good. I believe there's a certain amount of work going into future versions to try to streamline things, but they really do need a GUI designer to put some time into making a simple but powerful GUI.

I think that what you've said is the fastest way. The thing about VLC is that it does a lot of things, and it hasn't really been designed with users in mind... Recent versions have improved that though.

Have a look at the latest version on http://nightlies.videolan.org and see if they're any better.
