Would be a nice feature request though :)

Basically, VLC could do it internaly but no option allows specifying more than one subtitle track at the same time in the interface. You'd still have issues with DVD subs because those have a fixed position on the screen, thus they'd overlap.

All external subs in the same directory with a near same name will show up in VLC as subtitle tracks. But only one will show or can be selected at any given time.

The only thing I have seen is a couple of sub editing packages that can show more than one sub, but position on screen makes it almost impossible to read because of the overlap or lack of control. The program would need to be aware that more than one sub was being used and some how change the position. There may also be timing considerations that may make this an almost impossible feet if multiple formats were involved. Then there is the problem of formats VLC has little or no control over like VOBSub or Sub Station Alpha, where the format contains the positional information. I think what I'm trying to say is, it would be very doubtful, there is any kind of resolve that would allow this to be accomplished in a manner that would be satisfactory.

hmm

Hi all. Is it possible to change the subtitles vertical position while playing a DVD movie? I am using the "force subtitle position" and nothing happens, possibly because this is only for text-based subtitles. But when I am watching a mkv with integrated VobSub subtitles, MPC can change the vertical position of them. Can VLC do that for a DVD subtitle stream? If no, will be added some day? I think that it's very useful, because many movies have their subtitles very high. Thanks.
