I have a question about the behavior of the "video mirror" function of the graphics driver that sends a video overlay as fullscreen copy to the secondary monitor.
I know this is not VLC specific but here seems the only place to get an anwer to this question...
I use VLC 0.8.5 with WinXP pro and Nvidia graphics boards of the 7800 and 7900 series.
Indipendently from the used video player software some highdefinition video files in 1080p format (1920x1080pixel) are played back with the physical resolution of 1920x1200 pixel from the secondary monitor but others are played back in a reduced resolution of 1600x1200 pixel.
By default all DivX and XVid files I know and have encoded by myself are played back only in reduced resolution. Some other files (MPEG II WMV) are played back in full resolution or in 1440x1200 pixel or 1280x1024 pixel res.
All tested files have a internal resolution of 1920x1080pixel fullfilling the HD 1080p specification.
So I'm wondering where the different resolution is coming from???
I've to play back video in full resolution but the video mirror is compromising the siganl resolution...
(any ideas??
