Newbie cannot open utorrent file and view with vlc!

I downloaded from uttorent, but for some reason cannot view the item.
Is there something i must do to specify i will use vlc and to conver the file to this format?

I have tried to open the file using vlc, and for some reason , it does read ONE file, but not any of the others? Can anyone help me to understand what the problem might be. THank you so much for your kindness.

VLC by itself is not a format per se. It merely plays the files.

What is the file extension for the files you downloaded?
