remote control not working in full-screen mode

just downloaded VLC last night, works good so far, however I am having problems with my remote control. I am using the ATI Remote Wonder, downloaded and installed the VLC plug-in. when watching videos in "non-full-screen" mode the play/pause/FF/REW all work fine from the remote, however when in "full-screen" mode the VLC is not responding to the remote control. is there somewhere in the preferences that I need to set to have full-screen-mode respond to the remote?

so, does anyone actually have any working remote control under full-screen mode???

I have seen similar posts here where even keyboard control is lost under full-screen mode... perhaps something in the settings needs to be set to enable control -period- under the full-screen mode???

same problem

I have the exact same problem with my pinnacle remote control. I have been searching these forums as well as using google to try and find something about this but have had no luck. Anyone around who knows how to solve this, or is it just not possible to use a remote control in fullscreen?

I wrote a little bit about it in my guide on how to get a creative remote to work here.

Look at the last step, Step 7 (Optional). Seems that the fullscreen window gets focus instead of the VLC main app window. The main window is called wxWindowNR, and the fullscreen window is called VLC DirectX. I don't have any other remote, so I can't say how they work, but I had to set the creative remote to control them both.

Personally I think this is progress. The last 3 versions only worked in full screen. :)

thanks PrometheusG, you got me on the right track :)
to get it working for my pinnacle remote type b I had to add the following to profiles.ini
[VLC (hardware YUV overlay DirectX output)]

; (RED(A))
key1009=KEYBOARD CTRL+q+^q+^CTRL

; (GREEN(B))
key1010=KEYBOARD CTRL+q+^q+^CTRL

; (YELLOW(C))
key1011=KEYBOARD CTRL+q+^q+^CTRL

ETC.....
