Subtitle-problem

Hello...
I have 2 different subtitle-files (.idx and .sub) and apparently I have to put them both in the same map so the subtitle would work.
I've changed the encoding to ISO-8859-1 but the language of the sub is norwegian or danish. What I want and what it should be is Swedish.
What should I do?
Thanks in advance.

.idx + .sub combo are image based subtitles so text encoding doesn't matter. Open the .idx file as subtitle and then press right mousebutton on video ja choose Subtitle track -> Swedish

you should download the swedish subtitle.
subtitle encoding has nothing to do with the language, and subtitles contain only one language by file

funman: the subtitle is supposed to be in Swedish too! Apparently you can choose different subtitles since it comes from an img file.

Where do I press the right mousebutton on the video again? If you mean in "my computer" I can't find the "subtitle track" there.

When you Open the movie file in VLC,check the option "Use subtitle file" and select the .idx file.
Now,when the video plays, right click on the video screen. You will get a menu.IN that select Subtitle track -> Swedish.

Thanks a lot man! That solved the problem and now I have the swedish text. The only problem that remains is that now the text is a little bit far up in the screen. Is there any way I can move it down a bit?
