.AVI preview not working when used as player in Emule Plus

Im very new to this and would like some help with the following :

Ive installed VideoLan as the default player for Emule Plus. I can preview .mpg .mpeg .mp3 files. But i cant preview .avi files. Could somebody please help with this problem

AVI files are indexed and can't be watched until the file is complete. Try updating VLC to 0.8.5

Try downloading the eMule plugin for VLC:

Be careful here as plugins are designed to work with a specific version of VLC and may cause problems if this is not strictly adhered to. VLC 0.8.5 will read a partial or a damaged index for an AVI file. This of coarse assuming that the format inside the container is supported.
