May I ask for the official building process information?

Dear Sir:

There are sevel ways to build VLC on Windows as described in the documents. However, I can't still build a version as stable as the official release one! There's alway some kind of annoying/strange problems.

I think the simplest way is to take the same official steps rather than spend time sovling those confusing problems especially for those who intend to modify the source code. Hence, I shall ask for the following information of the latest offical version 0.8.5:

1. How do you build? Under cygwin, mingw/msys or something else? What is the system environment set up?
2. Do you build following the precompiled contrib way or the required libraries source tree path?
3. How about revealing the version(or date) of the contrib package and all the versions of libraries which VLC links(that is, their original source versions)?
4. How do you build ffmpeg (that is, the configure line)? This package is picked out since it seems mainly to influence the stability...
5. What is the configure line of v0.8.5?
6. Anything import to the final build

Thanks ahead.
Your rely should help many people.
